(Weston, Florida)-- On Thursday, March 30th, the Broward
Professional Alliance will hold a free workshop
in Weston called “I’m Here, Now What?” a faceto-face
encounter with experts who will give strategic
advice to foreign national professionals for
making a successful transition to the United
States. Attendees will be able to learn about
changes in immigration laws, implications of the
U.S. Patriot Act, taxation issues, real estate
investment rules, and how to avoid scams.
“So many foreign nationals come to the United
States, and specifically here in South Florida,
expecting to do business the way they did back
in their native countries, but when they get
here, they find out in many cases, it’s a lot
different than they had expected,” said Keil
Hackley, an immigration attorney and member of
the Broward Professional Alliance. “Our goal is
to give out timely information to these people
and help them smooth out the transition.”
Four experts in the area of immigration law,
taxation, real estate and finance will make
presentations and answer questions. The program
will be held at Weston Hills Country Club
located at 2600 Country Club Way, Weston,
Florida. Cocktails and networking begin at 5:30
P.M. and the presentations begin at 6:00 P.M.
Comerica Bank is sponsoring the event. Anyone
